As a retail trader stepping into this arena, it is incredibly easy to be seduced by the quant side of the argument. We are bombarded with slick retail backtesting platforms, no-code algorithmic builders, and the promise that if we just find the right combination of indicators on historical data, we can build a market-beating strategy that prints money while we sleep.
